Cancer Stage in Performance Measurement: A First Look
This is the first pan-Canadian report of its kind presenting provincial population-level data on cancer staging. Stage data allows us to evaluate cancer control initiatives like screening and early detection, as well as patterns of care including diagnosis and treatment. Indicators presented include incidence rates by stage for the four most common cancers, and prevalence rates for three key prognostic factors: incidence of breast cancer cases that are triple-negative, a breakdown of prostate cancer cases by risk category, and the percentage of rectal cancer cases with a positive circumferential resection margin.
